The Cormorant is a new publication, presenting work from established and emerging writers in Sligo. Over 25 writers contributed, reflecting the range of voices and different rhythms of looking and writing.
The publication is named for the noble sea-bird, associated with its ability to plunge deep and carry messages between worlds. Cormorants keep sentinel along the Sligo coast and docks, augurs and witnesses, ever watchful.
The inaugural publication will include writing from Kevin Barry, Molly McCloskey, Eoin McNamee, Tess Gallagher, Alice Lyons, Brian Leyden and many other established voices, as well as new ones – Elaine Cosgrove, Louise Kennedy, Niamh MacCabe. The launch will take place with readings from contributors.
